Three quiet homes in a garden
In Kadıkalesi, a few minutes from Gümüşlük. The sea in summer, sun and stillness in winter. Open twelve months a year.
One garden, three homes, one bay
Hespera Suits sits in Kadıkalesi, on the west coast of the Bodrum Peninsula, between Gümüşlük and Turgutreis. Three separate studio homes stand in a large garden full of fruit trees. Each has its own entrance, its own terrace and a kitchen set up for staying a while.
The beaches of Kadıkalesi are a 500 m walk, and the complex has a private beach our guests can use. Coffee on the terrace in the morning, the sea in the afternoon, sunset in Gümüşlük in the evening. The rest is up to you.

Gümüşlük
A fishing village built on the ruins of ancient Myndos. Tables on the sand, Rabbit Island reached on foot through shallow water, and a sunset people watch in near silence every evening.
As a protected archaeological zone, it has stayed low-rise and village-like. A few minutes from our homes by car.
The name
Keeper of the sunset
In ancient Greece, Hespera was the goddess of evening and of the golden light of sunset, one of the Hesperides, the nymphs of the west. The story goes that at the western edge of the world, where the sun sinks into the sea, she guarded a garden of paradise where golden apples grew.
When we opened three homes in a garden full of fruit trees on a west-facing coast, the name chose itself.

Sunset
Gümüşlük sits on the west-facing coast of the peninsula. Every evening the sun goes down into the sea behind the islands. That is Hespera’s hour.

II
The garden
The homes stand in a large garden of mulberry, pomegranate, quince, orange and mandarin trees. Pick the fruit yourself, in season.

III
Golden apples
Some read the golden apples of the myth as quinces or citrus fruit. Botanists still call a citrus fruit a “hesperidium”. In winter, the mandarins in our garden glow like gold.
